Bob is resting and watching sports at Hope Lodge. His last radiation is either Monday or Tuesday. His next appointment is on Tuesday afternoon with Dr. Harrison (Radiation Oncologist) which I will attend with him. He may also have an appointment around noon that day with Dr. Culliney (Medical Oncologist).
In order for him to talk at this point he needs to gargle with salt water right before talking. This gives him a short window to talk.
One of the professionals at Beth Israel --nurse? doctor? Speech therapist?-- not sure who said it, however, they said the next "leg" of this is very difficult...I'm thinking because radiation and chemotherapy are cumulative??? It's important to keep exercising the mouth and tongue.
We'll know more Tuesday.
