First thing this morning Bob felt pretty sick. He was nauseous and moving somewhat gently. He was leaving mid morning to drive to CT. He has been getting rides back and forth to NYC until today (Sunday).
Today he was driving to his friend Tom's house in Norwalk,CT then Tom was driving them both into Manhattan for a concert at Carnegie Hall. I expressed my concern about him driving to and from CT---1 1/2 hours +/- ---with everything his body is going through and seeing it in his eyes---however he was unwavering. I let it go...
Friday he plans to work then take the train to CT to pick up his car then head home. I do hope he decides to stay in CT Friday night and come home Saturday at his leisure feeling more rested. Fridays he is VERY tired. Maybe he'll choose to take this Friday off.
The girls and I heard about the Blessing of the Animals sponsored by Taft Farms in Gt. Barrington. We had no idea what to expect however the Doerr family agreed that a blessing was in order...for all 3 pets....Chloe, Buttercup and Lily (guinea pigs)! It was a GORGEOUS fall day and a touching and happy event. I wish SO MUCH Bob was there to experience it. I took some photos but they do not do the event justice. There was a horse, goat, a chicken--that escaped temporarily-- guinea pigs, many dogs including a very LARGE blood shot eyed Great Dane...Chloe wanted to explore. I encouraged NOT to (: That dog was HUGE.

She likes to make friends..she just as a funny way of doing it.
Thankfully this dog was very patient with her. She just
wants to play!
We met our friends the Harr's there. They even brought their new neighbors elderly dog Austin. After leaving the event Betsi took all the children back to our house for some play time while I ran 2 errands.I realized it's important to have safety goggles and ear protection when leaf blowing. I also learned that the minivan has a port so the IPOD can be played...we are so high tech now.Hopefully it will actually work in the car. Our radio service when driving around Berkshire County is pretty weak. If it's a rare day that we actually have the radio on I have to keep changing channels when I hear static. This new device may be the answer. I went to radio shack and picked up the cord I needed. The customer service at the GB Radio Shack was amazing..I had 3 people helping me. One woman came out to my car to make sure the plug was going to fit..unfortunately we couldn't test it ..IPOD hasn't been turned on or used in so long the battery was dead! (laughing) At least the cord fits in the dashboard! That's a start!
Now I have to get some music on it...I think I have one cd on it at this point...not sure which one....the IPOD was a gift for Mothers Day. Filling it with music hasn't been a priority... My electronic priority has been to get my address book from my palm pilot to the blackberry! I left off at "M' and I can't tell you how many times over the last few months I have gone to call someone with a last name "R" and I don't know the number. It happened again this past Saturday. LOL I'd like to say updating the address book is my "focus" for this week---as I"ve done SO MANY times in the past 2 months however something else always seems higher priority..and quite frankly HAS been higher priority. This is a time what I feel there just are NOT enough hours in a day. (:
This week is Natalie's surgery. I'm not looking forward to this NY trip...not one bit. She does NOT know it's this week. She knows it's being done at some point but we didn't give her a date..no need to worry a 5 year old brain about this. I'll tell her Tuesday. My friend Ginny is going....I'm so thankful. She knows the city and she knows me....she'll be "my mom" for a few days so I can be present and Natalie's "mom"...Ginny will get us where we need to be and ask the questions I don't think of. She'll be our live and extremely fun GPS! She even changed her business trip to go along...Thank you Ginny! I 'm very grateful...and yes ...nervous!
So that's all the news for now. My guess is I won't be writing much this week.
Off to do Monday morning.. |
